What conditions do you treat?
Alongside musculoskeletal issues such as back, neck, joint, and muscle pain, the clinic specialises in pelvic health physiotherapy for pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder and bowel symptoms, prolapse, pregnancy and postnatal issues, menopause-related changes, pessary fitting, post-surgical rehabilitation, and persistent pelvic pain.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You do not need a GP or consultant referral to book an appointment. You are welcome to self-refer.
What happens during an initial pelvic health assessment?
Your first appointment includes a detailed discussion about symptoms, medical history, and goals. With consent, this may include assessment of posture, movement, abdominal muscles, and the pelvic floor.
Will I need an internal examination?
An internal vaginal or rectal examination is never mandatory. It can be useful, but it is only carried out with informed consent and treatment options still exist if you choose not to have one.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on symptoms, goals, and response to treatment. Some people improve within a few sessions while others benefit from longer-term support, with progress reviewed together.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear whatever you are comfortable in. You may be asked to undress for parts of the assessment, but privacy and dignity are always prioritised.
Can I still attend if I am on my period?
Yes, absolutely. A vaginal examination can still be carried out if you are comfortable with that, but your comfort is the most important thing and rearranging is also fine.
Do you provide a chaperone?
A chaperone cannot be provided by the clinic, but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like one present.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked via the clinic website booking platform. If you are unsure which appointment type is right for you, the clinic can help with guidance.
